The Harpocratic Octahedron Sealing Ritual

Five ritualists are required for this ritual, which is an elaboration of a rubric for a solo magician. One stands in the center (C), and four at the cross-quarters (SE, SW, NW NE).

PART I. The Elevenfold Seal

Phrase I. The Vertical Component of the Enchantment

All clap the battery 1-333-333-333-1
C faces Boleskme and defines the column in the center gesturing with the right thumb between index and medius,
circle over head: Nuit!
at genitals: Hadit!
at heart: Ra-hoor-khuit!
All: Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.

Phrase II. The Horizontal Component of the Enchantment

C crosses between ajna and vishuddha: Aiwass!
C crosses between anahata and manipura: Therion!
C crosses between svadhisthana and muladhara: Babalon!
All: The word of the law is Thelema.

Phrase III. The Asseveration of the Spells

NE concentrates energy at feet: LAShTAL!
NW concentrates energy at the groin: THELEMA!
SW concentrates energy at the solar plexus: VIOAV!
SE concentrates energy at the throat: AGAPE!
C concentrates energy at the crown: AUMGN!
All: Love is the law, love under will.

Phrase IV. The Proclamation of the Accomplishment

All clap the battery 333-55555-333.
All: Abrahadabra!

PART II. The Octahedron

C faces southeast. He visualizes a golden cross in his heart. He brings pneuma up from his feet, bounces it off the crown and down to his heart, where it blooms on the cross as a red rose. He flings the rose and cross forward in the sign of the enterer, vibrating: Hoor-pa-kraat.

SE answers with the sign of silence. SE sends a ray of pneuma to SW by pointing his left index finger and vibrating: SIGES ("SEE-gayce").

C faces southwest and throws a rose and cross in the sign of the enterer, vibrating: Hoor-pa-kraat.

SW answers with the sign of silence. SW sends a ray of pneuma to NW by pointing his left index finger and vibrating: SIGES.

Complete the cross-quarters, proceeding deosil around the circle, until NE sends the ray to SE.

C faces east. He makes the rose bloom upon the cross as before, and then flings it upwards, making the sign of Typhon, vibrating: Hoor-pa-kraat.
He makes the sign of silence.

C faces southeast. He begins a lightning-flash by holding his left index finger overhead and then drawing a line of pneuma down to the southeast,
vibrating: SIGES.
SE sends the rose and cross to NW with the sign of the enterer and the vibration: Hoor-pa-kraat.
NW answers with the sign of silence. NW uses his left index finger to extend a line of pneuma to the feet of C, vibrating: SIGES.

C faces southwest. He begins a lightning-flash by holding his left index finger overhead and then drawing a line of pneuma down to the southwest,
vibrating: SIGES.
SW sends the rose and cross to NE with the sign of the enterer and the vibration: Hoor-pa-kraat.
NE answers with the sign of silence. NE uses his left index finger to extend a line of pneuma to the feet of C, vibrating: SIGES.

Complete the remaining two lightning-flashes, moving deosil about the circle.

C faces east. He makes the rose bloom upon the cross, which he then lets drift down through his feet to where the flashes converge. He touches the earth there, and brings a column of pneuma up to the overhead rose and cross, vibrating: Heru-ra-ha.

All make the sign of mater triumphans and visualize the completed octahedron, vibrating: NYPIOS.

C faces west. He makes the sign puer and incants:
I praise the luxuriant Rapture of Innocence, the virile and pantomorphous Ecstasy of All-Fulfilment; I praise the Crowned and Conquering Child whose name is Force and Fire, whose subtlety and strength make sure serenity, whose Energy and Endurance accomplish the Attainment of the Virgin of the Absolute; who, being manifested, is the Player on the sevenfold pipe, the Great God Pan, and, being withdrawn into the Perfection that he willed, is Silence.

PART III. The Elevenfold Seal

Repeat Part I.

The ritual is concluded.

COMMENTS

This ritual was given its first exhibition performance at the Scarlet Woman Camp business meeting of 19 November 1994 e.v. The ritualists were Fr. Pnesomauma (C). Fr. Sharash (NE), Sr. Continuity (NW), Fr. Wissen bei Kenneth (SW) and Fr. AM (SE).

The Harpocratic Octahedron is a sealing ritual, and thus designed to isolate the magicians and their Work from outside detection and influence. To be effective it should be preceded by a banishing ritual. (The Star Ruby is most appropriate.)

Note that this rite is more efficacious with a variation of the typical sign of silence, made by pressing the left forefinger to the lips.

The group version of the elevenfold seal in this ritual includes an upward widdershins spiral during the asseveration of the spells. This balances the deosil direction of Part II. Note that both the widdershins ascent of the spiral and the deosil descent of the lightning flashes obey the right-hand rule for induced currents.

All of the words used in the asseveration of the spells have the value of 93 by various gematrias. The word SIGES is Greek for "Silences" and has a gematria value of 418 in Greek. The word NYPIOS is Greek for "Child," and also has the value 418.

The individual version of this ritual differs as follows:
* It omits the litany-style quotes from The Book of the Law in the Elevenfold Seal.
* It omits the passing of lines from one magician to another, all of them simply being drawn by the lone ritualist.
* It also does not require the sign of the enterer when drawing the middle line of each lightning-flash.
All other designated actions are performed in the same sequence.
