The Scarlet Letter
Volume II, Number 4 | May 1995 From the Camel's Back by Sr. Continuity, Camp Master
* * * * * You can come and play with us (for three days anyway) but if you grow your own love it will always be in the backyard waiting for you. Like St. Dorothy I have oft travelled to exotic ports in foreign lands seeking something that the random move will seldom apprehend. The fog cleared, the veil parted...I get it, I see it. My well travelled boots, pulled off trembling shock-white feet, lay untended in the corner now. My toes grip the dew wet firmament. The body rests. Home. Family. Firm foundation. Out there, planetside, Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law, and in fact, until then—Love is the law, love under will—Just try to be nice to each other, guys. But in here, There is no law beyond Do what thou wilt. Vigourously, rigourously apply this principle to your life on all the planes and every time you will come through the damn dirty tunnel to certain light. No one ever said anything about a dearth of damn dirty tunnels, did they? Are you a magician? Think of your life on the planet and your life in the Order as mirrors. Two mighty magick mirrors manipulated by you, that reflect the change that you cause, if you will do so. (Know what I mean? Dare you! Shhh...) If you don't adore what you've got, grow your own new, by seed and root, by stem and bud, by leaf and flower and fruit. Cherish it. Nurture it. Don't forget to pick the flowers and harvest the fruit so the plant can keep on growing. And if you happen to notice an especially large serpent gliding into your garden, by turns sleeping and coiling and hissing and generally blessing everything in its path, say hello for me. Light, life, love and liberty...Continuity. |
