Cara Scarlet Woman Camp,

Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.

Thank you many times over for your wonderfully rich hospitality during my visit in April. Although I had heard many fine stories about your Camp, none of them prepared me for the brilliant example of Thelemic community I enjoyed in your temples and homes. As I write this note from my study in California, several Texas memories clamor to be writ:

Your Gnostic Mass: I have never seen a finer enactment of a Liber XV mass and can't think of a more enthused, magickal iteration of any variant mass. Your Mass team was splendidly robed, flawlessly rehearsed, tightly focused as a x-ray laser and three times as hot! As I approached the Priestess to communicate, I saw heat shimmers over her. Yet it took me several days to consider that such a derail was worth noting in my journal—it seemed so consonant with the experience at the time. Your celebrants were just as intense and disciplined, just as caught up in the magick of your Mass. Content's musical direction was masterful: I had no idea the Mass could be so illuminated with music. Scarlet Woman Camp's Gnostic Mass rates highly among the most fulfilling group magickal experiences I have ever known. To think you get this every weekend makes me envious.

Your Sisters and Brothers: I've traveled quite a bit on my various projects and have visited dozens of OTO and Thelemic bodies over the years, and I don't know that I've ever met such a fine collection of young magicians all in one place. Your people all seemed so bright, well studied, eager, graceful, healthy, sexy and joyous. And you all got on so well together. Gone were the internecine politics that so often undermine magickal fraternities. Your passions seem spent on your Great Works together—and it shows. I felt charmed by your company from the moment I arrived and enjoyed some of the finest hospitality I have ever known: including a thoroughly Thelemic initiation into the Texan custom of spicy breakfast burritos first thing in the morning, a camp out together at the CMA Beltain Festival and, the delightful and constant demonstration of how your camp got its name, and, of course, the drumming, the drumming, the drumming... I hope with all my heart that I may have the honor of returning hospitality to many of you out here in Ecotopia. You may show up on my doorstep anytime!

Your temple space: I don't know any OTO group that has such a fine temple. No converted garage, closet or attic in a household otherwise devoted to the varied tasks of late 20th century 'getting by.' You people maintain a real temple, set aside for the purposes of instruction, celebration and community. Large, well-kept, organized and inviting, it's a fine reflection of your camp. It seems so obvious to me now that your temple serves as the backbone of your community that I'm tempted to suggest other bodies find a dedicated temple before they found their community.

I remember asking many of your people if they had visited other magickal groups and most said they hadn't. This seems a shame—most of your people may not know how good they have things. Scarlet Woman Camp is the most pleasant and exciting Thelemic body I have ever visited; your ritual is beautiful and fulfilling, your temple is the perfect harmony of function and form, and your people, well, your people are among the finest living validation of Thelema and Agape I have known.

I must stop writing now and turn my mind to schemes of how to return to Austin...

Love is the law, love under will.

Never thirst,
Adam Walks Between Worlds

Can Fratres et Sorores,

Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.

We would like to congratulate the entire encampment on the monumental success of your (first, hopefully annual) Thelemic Retreat. The both of us had a wonderful time and enjoyed meeting and getting to know many of the members.

Everything was presented with professional coordination and completed without hitch. Our thanks go out for your achievement and we hope to see you again soon.

Love is the law, love under will.

Fraternally,
Fra. Hunahpu & Sor. Ixel Balamke

Care Scarlet Woman Camp:

Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.

It is with some regret and some anticipation that we announce that Insanvs Sanctus Letum and Isis Insania are out of here!

The Daze and Knights of Sodom on the Colorado are to go on without us, for a while, anyway. Do it!

We grew, died... lets move on. Scarlet Woman Camp is a great, warm, throbbing, exciting energy. We thank you for the intense Thelemic hospitality and love.

Love is the law, love under will.

P.S. I wish Crowley were here to hear me say that.

Care Frater Sharash,

Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.

Many thanks for sending me the Imbolg issue of The Scarlet Letter. I must congratulate you on producing another issue of one of the best magazines produced within the Order. Unfortunately, I seem to have missed out on Volume II number 3, so could I ask you to send me a copy[...]

Love is the law, love under will.

Yours in bonds of the Order.
